Blogging started off a hobby. People started writing and sharing their interests with the world. Some passionate people even put-in efforts to make their blogs interesting to read. Not all of them have done well. Then there are blogs that are extremely successful. Their popularity is unmatched. How do you ensure that your blogs become popular and gets appreciation as well?
If you have a goal, you need to have a plan. While some blogs are popular because they are unique and out-of-the-box, others gain popularity purely because they know what the audience wants. There is no secret. The only secret for a great blog is a good plan. You must have a clear focus on what you want to talk about and who you want to talk to. Some sample ideas that you can explore to start a blog are as follows.
Weddings interest everyone. A good blog should get all information regarding weddings in one place. From attires and accessories to invitations and services. The blog should be able to help with everything, have a lot of pictures, a directory of resources for various services, and inspirational wedding ideas.
Design is again a very broad area. If you want to cater specifically to home design, furniture design, or any other kind of design, even better. Get the best ideas from around the world and share them in an interesting way. This will get you a niche audience that will take interest in your work.
Hobby blogs need a lot of effort. If you are a creative person, you need to create and share new things all the time. Pick a hobby that you like and understand.
Tech blogs are too popular these days. There is so much technology news out there that it is impossible to absorb it all. If you are a techie at heart, making things simple for laymen is a good way to be popular online.
Think Big, Plan Big
These are just a few ideas that you can work with. If there is something else that interests you, pursue it. Blogging allows you to share your ideas and interests with like-minded people. It revolves around picking the right idea and exploring every bit of it to provide a rich reading experience. If you get it right, you can turn it into a great business opportunity. In fact, whatever you choose, look at it like a business opportunity right from the beginning. Plan it as you would prepare for a full-fledged business.
If you are really serious about making it big, you can even get a professional plan writing company to help you out. You can really make big bucks from your blog if you have the right strategy for it. It just needs a vision and dedication. Go through at least one Sample of Business Plan for blogs. If you can find more, better off. They explain how simple blogs can be monetized, not just by placing ads, but by creating business opportunities with what you write and how well you present it as a product. Thinking big can help you make it big. Pick, plan, and post for profits!

NOTE: people have asked me if this is a digital image or a composite. It is actually a sheet of glass with water droplets on it, placed 6 inches above a white board with crayons on it. I have just focussed on the water drops.
I spent four and a half hours online and on the phone today, trying to get Take That tickets for my wife who is desparate to see them live.
I had a phone continually redialling, and a tab open on my browser for every company that was selling official tickets, and it was all crashing all day.
At one point I got as far as selecting tickets and when it went through to pay, the site crashed.
In between waiting for sites to load up, I thought I would be constructive so I set up my camera to take a shot I had in my head ever since seeing a similar one done before.
Anyway I never got the tickets, but at least I tried very hard, and I am pleased with the result of this photo.
The small print.

Watch TechCrunch, Mashable, GigaOM, Technology Review, and the tech blogs for the New York Times and LA Times load side by side. Guess which one is fastest.
